Mercury's New ECO-Screen lifts fuel economy by 10-20%

Boaters can now save up to 20% on fuel - and do it easily - with the new SmartCraft MercMonitor with ECO-Screen.

ECO-Screen constantly monitors engine RPM, boat speed, engine trim and fuel consumption to automatically calculate the best fuel economy settings for the boat's current activity.

ECO-Screen then allows drivers to quickly adjust their speed and trim to maximise economy.

ECO-Screen uses colour to show, at a glance, when settings are optimised. Green is optimised, yellow means fuel economy can be improved.

An additional function of the new SmartCraft MercMonitor with ECO-Screen is that it's fully compatible with NMEA 2000 systems. This means MercMonitor's engine management data can be displayed on the screen of NMEA 2000 compatible instruments - fish finder, depth sounder, chart plotter etc - allowing the user to focus on just one display.

Mercury's SmartCraft technology allows boaters to digitally monitor and control virtually every aspect of their engine and boat, as well as the local environment. Furthermore, advanced diagnostics greatly reduce the chance of engine damage thereby greatly enhancing boat safety.

The MercMonitor has been specifically designed to allow boaters to easily access this information and adjust performance parameters. MercMonitor now offers access to up to 42 features via a screen which is just 86 mm in diameter.

The new SmartCraft MercMonitor with ECO-Screen is already being lauded by the marine industry.

West Marine, one of the world's largest marine retailers with more than 360 stores across the US, has just used the world's biggest marine event, The Miami International Boat Show, to name it as the "Industry's Green Product of the Year".

West Marine describes ECO-screen as "a shining example of the eco-friendly innovation we're looking for".
